Classic hidden film noir gem
Edward G. Robinson under Fritz Lang direction is superb, beautiful moody/atmospheric lighting. Sophisticated film, balanced pacing with a slow build up in the beginning and a lot of suspense as it quickly picks up tempo and moves into the action scenes with a crescendo. Great storyline that was executed masterfully by Fritz Lang's signature style storytelling. Dan Duryea plays one of the villans superbly and Joan Bennett's femme fatale is a tad melodramatic but is very true to this particular genre and era of filmmaking. Clean and no profanity or graphic violence a trademark of this era. Truly wonderful film that really delves into the human psyche of infatuations, obsessions, betrayal, manipulation and murder. The danger of the wrong woman whom leaves her scent on the life of an otherwise less than ordinary man.

Good Inage & Sound But
Lip sync a second or 2 behind sound, otherwise a great copy of a very good movie. Four stars for movie, 2 for sound track.
